Two accused of running business from town offices

The director of the Islip Town’s Division of Public Safety, James Schaefer, and his deputy, Charles Gallo, were each charged with a felony count of defrauding the government when they ran a private security firm out of their offices, and sometimes sent town employees to guard clients in the Hamptons when they were being paid by the town.
