Alda downsizes

Actor Alan Alda and his wife, Arlene Alda, sold a 1-acre parcel in Water Mill, N.Y., part of the Hamptons, for $1.45 million this fall. The buyer is listed as a trust. The land, which is away from the water and wasn’t listed on the market, was one of five lots owned by the Aldas on Oliver’s Cove Lane, near Mecox Bay, records show. Alda owns a house on a 7-acre spread that includes three of the lots. The actor bought the 1-acre parcel, which includes dock space at a community beach on the bay, for $1.2 million in 2002.
