At hearing on health of Forge River, many describe horrors of dead and dying marine life and awful odors.
A report released yesterday by the county health department attributed the oxygen depletion to a combination of factors, including discharge from duck farms, leaking septic systems, storm water runoff, fertilizer, and waste from waterfowl. It found no indication of a major sewage leak and said there is no immediate public health problem.
