I almost died when I turned on Kitchen Nightmares by accident last night and saw Gordan Ramsey at the famed Babylon train station. I had no intention of watching the show, but I was glued to the TV until I found out which restaurant will be humiliated. Peter’s Pasta!
Peter’s was one of the first clients of my father’s successful specialty food distribution business. He ordered everything from fresh vegetables to fresh pasta from him. I have fond memories of having lunch there with my father and the owner Anthony (Peter’s Pasta was named after his son). Back in the early 90’s Peter’s was simple and very busy. I liked it so much, a had a few special dates there.
Year’s later Peter’s expanded when the antique store went out of business and I stopped by for dinner one Friday night, without reading any reviews (here, here, here) to see how Anthony has grown his business. I’ve not been back since that night. Well I didn’t see Anthony, but I did see this…
I’ll do a follow-up to this post to see if all that new equipment, 4 Days of Training and 1 full-hour of National humiliation has helped Anthony’s business. Oh and yes, Peter did stop using my Father’s Fresh Lobster Raviolis produced by Deer Park Ravioli, perhaps the best fresh pasta on Long Island that’s is only 20 minutes away.
